The game begins, Shalke desperate to have a good second half of the season and Wolfsburg wanting to make it to the Champions League or at least the Europa League. In the 5th minute, Mehmedi had a big chance to score but Alexander Nubel males a good save. In the 7th minute, Shalke gets a present. A penalty! Nabil Bentaleb isn’t there to take it so Daniel Caligiuri does and scores! In the 20th minute, Wolfsburg’s Elvis Rexhbecaj scores his first Bundesliga goal of the season and an equalizer for Wolfsburg. The first half ends 1-1, better for Wolfsburg.

The second half begins with Shalke playing better than they did in the first half. In the 50th minute, Koen Casteels makes a good save to stop Shalke from getting 3 points. In the 66th minute, Weston Mckennie fouls Maximillian Arnold and picks up a yellow card. In the 72nd minute Josip Brekalo comes in and Elvis Rexhbecaj goes out for Wolfsburg. In the 78th minute, Daniel Caligiuri scores his second goal of the game. In the 84th minute, Renato Steffen goes off and Felix Klaus comes on for Wolfsburg. In the 87th minute, Yunus Malli goes in and Yannick Gerhardt comes off for Wolfsburg. In the 90th minute, Haji Wright goes in and Mark Uth comes out for Shalke. In the 90+1st minute, Suat Serdar comes in and Weston Mckennie goes out for Shalke. In the 90+3rd minute, Ahmed Kutucu comes in and Steven Skrzybski comes out. The game ends 2-1 Shalke moves to 12th place and Wolfsburg still in 6th, still under Eintracht.
