Frankfurt vs Monchengladbach!

First Half

Kevin Trapp will be in goal for Eintracht and Stefan Ilsanker will get to play for his new team.

Gladbach is starting with Plea and Thuram supporting Embolo with Sommer in goal.

The game kicks off a 38 seconds in, Plea tips himself over to get a goal in the bottom corner! In the 6th minute, Lainer takes a free kick but the header went way wide. In the 7th minute, Bensebaini kicks it right in front of the goal and Thuram finishes it off! Following a foul against Bas Dost, Frankfurt gets a wave of attack but can’t manage to even get it on target.

Around the 20th minute, Trapp finally makes a pretty decent save to keep it 0-2. In the 23rd minute, Yann Sommer makes a great save for Kostic’s free kick but the follow up goes off.

The rest of the first half is very uneventful other than in the 45+1st minute, Trapp makes a good save to go into halftime.

Before the second half, Andre Silva replaces Djibril Sow.

Second Half

In the 48th minute, Kamada just misses a chance to get Eintracht back into the game. Just 11 minutes after coming on, Silva is booked for a foul where he failed to get a header and knocked down Ginter.

In the 65th minute, Gladbach finally makes their first substitution. Hermann replaces Thuram. 3 minutes later, Plea takes a shot from just outside the box that starts to curve in… and just about hits the post! In the 73rd minute, Gladbach is given a penalty. Bensebaini slips it through his arm to make it 0-3. Afterwards, Eintracht makes a double substitution.

In the 81st minute, Silva finally gets a goal back for Frankfurt! In the 84th minute, Martin Hinteregger saves it off the line! Hoffman must be very dissappointed. The game ends a 1-3 loss for Frankfurt.

Player of the Match:

I thought Gladbach’s Ramy Bensebaini played best. He had an assist for Thuram and basically sealed the deal with his PK goal.

Let me know who you thought played best in the comments!
