The game starts and 6 minutes in Inter gets a chance but Bayer’s Jonathan Tah stops Lukaku from getting any shots. In the 13th minute, Lautaro Martinez fouls a Leverkusen defender. Just 2 minutes later, Lukaku twists around in the box and fails a shot. The rebound is taken by Nicolo Barella who somehow gets into the left bottom corner from outside the box! Inter 1-0 Leverkusen
In the 20th minute, Ashley Young kicks into the box and Lukaku gets tripped over but still scores! Inter 2-0 Bayer. 3 minutes later, Lukaku comes up with another attack but this time, Hradecky can block it. I can’t finish my sentences because there are too many… Kai Havertz scores! Kevin Volland does a simple pass to him and he taps it in below Handanovic! 2-1
And of course, 30 seconds later, Daley Sinkgraven is accused of a handball in the box and Lukaku is given a penalty. After VAR, the ref says no penalty. In the 32nd minute, Danilo D’Ambrisio is given a yellow card for fouling Moussa Diaby on Leverkusen. Tah misses the header after the free kick.
In the 40th minute, Bayer’s Julian Baumgartlinger does a good job preventing Inter from scoring a corner. 3 minutes later, Sinkgraven gets a yellow card for a foul. The very exciting first half ends 2-1 in favor of Inter.

The second half starts and 38 seconds in, Volland fouls D’Ambrisio. In the 49th minute, Lars Bender gets a yellow card for a foul as the second yellow card for Bayer.1 minute later, Lukaku accidentally blocks his own teammates’ shot. In the 52nd minute, Lukas Hradecky makes a great diving save for Leverkusen.
In the 58th minute, Leverkusen takes Exequiel Palacios off and replaces him with Leon Bailey. Inter replaces D’Ambrisio and Roberto Gagliardini for Victor Moses and Christian Eriksen. 3 minutes later, Samir Handanovic makes a great save for Inter keeping it 2-1. Alexis Sanchez replaces Lautaro for Inter 5 minutes after the last substitution. In the 66th minute, Leverkusen’s defense holds up quite well preventing 3 scoring opportunities for Inter.
In the 75th minute, Leverkusen’s defense is able to block more shots. 12 minutes later, Edmond Tapsoba is given a yellow card for a foul. In the 90th minute, Tah fouls and Inter wins a penalty. But it is cancelled because Eriksen did a handball. Eriksen’s 90+5th minute free kick ends with Hradecky making a save with his chest.
