Munich retook the lead in the official title race. However, Union Berlin stay on top in the Martindex with their spectacular win over Dortmund. No one could have foreseen this string of subpar results for Black and Yellow. BVB remain buoyed by their lack of draws but these mounting losses will take their toll if the ship is not righted quickly. The lone positive news is that Youssoufa Moukoko’s tally set a record for the youngest Bundesliga goal scorer.

Bayern Munich squeaked out a win over the Workself in injury time thanks to a rare defensive mistake, quickly jumped on by Lewandowski. Lewy’s brace saved the favorites and further cemented his legend. However, the truth is the Bavarian side allowed several scoring chances to slip through their fingers throughout the game. Leverkusen’s defense blocked several shots and made last second tackles to keep them in the game. If Munich continues to play down to their competition, it will be a very thrilling title race.
Leipzig left points in Cologne after a scoreless draw, and now sit with Leverkusen on 28 points, a full four points ahead of fourth place Wolfsburg. Dortmund’s despair may be a by-product of Schalke’s continued futility. Their Royal Blue neighbors were unable to get anything by lowly Arminia and face Hertha next weekend. Fortunately, there’s a Pokal match against the Regionalliga side, Ulm. A strong win will give the side a much needed shot in the arm.
